Accessibility Core Competencies Certification Training (CPACC)
Course description
This course is designed to help you succeed in the International Association of Accessibility Professionals’ (IAAP) exam to become a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies. It focuses on non-technical, fundamental knowledge that is key to all work related to accessibility.
The course introduces key concepts related to accessibility and disabilities and explores how these can be applied in practice.
Outline of the content
The course is divided into three parts exploring each of the knowledge domains that are included in the International Association of Accessibility Professionals’ Certified Professional of Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification exam.
Part 1: Disabilities, barriers, and solutions
Learning objective: Understand different disabilities, describe associated barriers, and identify solutions and assistive technology
Part 2: Accessibility and universal design
Learning objective: Identify and apply principles of accessibility and universal design
Part 3: Standards, legislation, and management strategies
Learning objectives:
- Describe and classify standards and laws on disability rights and accessibility and laws
- Understand and explain how ICT accessibility can be implemented in organizational management strategies.
How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered through three online live sessions led by our IAAP certified instructors. The duration of each of the sessions is three hours.
This course is available in English and Swedish.
Our certified trainers also speak Danish, French, German, Hungarian and Spanish. Contact us regarding the possibility to localize the course into these languages.

The course provides fundamental knowledge relevant for everyone who works with accessibility in any capacity. The focus on broad conceptual knowledge provides an essential basis for working to promote accessibility in both technical and non-technical roles.
The course is open to anyone interested in and/or working with accessibility. It does not require any specific technical knowledge on the topic.

- The training material (power point) is distributed to participants together with tips for further studies.
Application and execution of the CPACC exam is handled by IAAP
Please note that completion of the training programme does not guarantee the success of your professional certification exam. The course should be used in complement to your own studies to prepare for the exam.
To apply for CPACC certification, you must have at least 1 year of experience in accessibility or a new/changed role with some responsibility for accessibility. The IAAP Certification staff assesses the applications received and determines whether you fulfil the requirements to take the exam.
