Courses for victim support professionals
Information about legal processes can be difficult to understand, especially if the individual experience challenges with reading, seeing, hearing, understanding or moving. That is why we are now offering courses in accessiblity.
In Sweden and Hungary, Funka Foundation and Validity are offering a free online course in accessibility, specially designed for staff and volunteers working with crime victims.
The course provides concrete tools to make victim support accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities.
During a series of sessions during the spring, victim support professionals will gain further insights in:
- User needs and accessible solutions
- Accessible meetings and inclusive approach/disability etiquette
- Recommendations on tools and practical methods for clear and understandable information
- Applied to common scenarios in victim support
After piloting and refinements, the training material and supporting documentation will be presented at a webinar in English, where victim suport professionals from across Europe will be invited.
The training is part of the project Accessible Support for Victims of Crime, which is being carried out by the Funka Foundation together with the Validity Foundation and is funded by Erasmus+.
