Consultation workshop
We invite you to join a workshop on the use of accessibility requirements in public procurement.
Date: 26 March 2025
Time: 14:00-15:30
Platform: Zoom
The European standardisation organisations are updating a Technical Report supporting procurers to buy accessible ICT products and services. The goal is to ensure that the guidance in the report is practical and meets the actual needs of procurers. The workshop aims to present the work done so far, to review the draft and suggest improvements.

Why This Matters
From 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act will impact public procurement across the EU. The European Commission has tasked CEN/CENELEC with updating guidance to align with regulations and evolving accessibility standards. The revised report is set for publication by mid-2026.
Discussion starters
- What challenges have you / your team / your organisation faced when considering accessibility in the procurement of ICT products or services? Where is guidance needed the most?
- What are your expectations for applying the European Accessibility Act in future procurements?
- What are your experiences and perspectives on:
- Defining technical specifications for accessibility?
- Setting and evaluating accessibility-related selection criteria?
- Establishing and assessing accessibility-related award criteria?
- Verifying compliance with technical accessibility specifications?
- Regarding documentation/evidence from bidders:
