Our team is growing!
To keep up with all the exciting new projects and assignments, we welcome Robert “Robban“ Lindblom to the team. Robban has a solid background in the visual impairment movement and extensive experience in training people in the use of assistive technology.
Robban will be supporting our test panel for accessibility and usability testing, carry out training courses and be involved in several of our user-centered research projects. We asked him to introduce himself to our readers and followers:
I am 36 years old, live in Norrköping, Sweden, and was born with a visual impairment. My vision is about 10%. When I got my first computer as a teenager, I got interested in digital accessibility because I tried to adapt everything on the computer so that it would work for me, even though I didn’t know what accessibility was at the time.
What made you apply to the Funka Foundation?
I believe that digital accessibility is a right that benefits everyone, and now that so much is happening in this area, I want to be part of that journey forward. During the autumn and spring of 2024/25, I took a course at the Funka Foundation. There, I was able to build on my interest in accessibility and gain a more solid foundation, which has led to me to now working with accessibility every day.
The other part is that I enjoy working with people. I enjoy interacting with people and building relationships, which is important in this role.
Would you like to share something personal?
My wife and I have just moved into a house, so we’re busy with that at the moment, and looking forward to getting everything in order. When I’m not busy with the house, I play electric guitar and sing (growl) in the metal band I’m in, do a bit of gaming and go for long walks with our dog.
And if you look into future?
I look forward to developing and learning more in the field of accessibility, especially in areas other than visual impairment, although I can of course learn more there too.
